Privacy policy

Hounslow Removals is the data controller for personal information collected through hounslowremovals.uk, under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. What we collect

The quote form asks for seven things: name, phone number, email address, the address you are leaving, the address you are going to, an optional moving date, and optional notes. Contact us another way and we hold what you tell us plus the details the message arrives with. If you book, we also hold the survey record and job paperwork.

2. Why we hold it

To answer your enquiry and prepare a quote (steps at your request before a contract). To carry out a booked move (performance of contract). To arrange a parking dispensation or a building booking (performance of contract). To prepare customs paperwork on a border-crossing move (contract and legal obligation). To keep accounting and insurance records (legal obligation).

3. What we do not do

Sell it. Share it with anyone unrelated to your move. Add you to a mailing list because you asked for a quote.

4. Who else sees it

Our website and form hosting provider, in transit. Our email provider. Google reCAPTCHA, for the automation check, under Google's own terms. Google Analytics, where enabled, for aggregate statistics. The London Borough of Hounslow or a managing agent, where a dispensation or booking requires it. On international moves, clearing agents and customs authorities — only what the declaration needs.

5. Cookies and tracking

No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no profiling. Analytics loads after rendering; reCAPTCHA loads only when you start the quote form. Blocking either does not stop you contacting us.

6. Retention

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once plainly no longer live. Completed-move records are kept as long as accounting, tax and insurance obligations require, then deleted. Customs paperwork for whatever period the relevant authority sets.

7. Security

HTTPS throughout; form submissions encrypted in transit. Access to enquiry and job records limited to the people who need them.

8. Your rights

You may ask for a copy, a correction, deletion where we are not required to keep it, restriction, objection, or transfer in a portable format. Email hello@hounslowremovals.uk; we respond inside the statutory period. Unsatisfied, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

9. Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

10. Changes

The updated version appears here. Material changes affecting existing customers are notified directly.
