FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything people actually ask, roughly in the order they ask it. Where the honest answer is that it depends, that is what it says.

What do you cover?

TW3, TW4 and TW5 — Hounslow Central, Hounslow West, Heston and Cranford — plus the Isleworth and Brentford edges. For a move entirely inside another town we name a better firm from our network rather than stretch to cover it.

How is the price set?

Somebody sees the property first. Video for most homes, in person where the access or the volume earns it. That produces a room-by-room record, and the record produces the figure, with a plain statement of scope.

Why no instant calculator?

Because a number from two postcodes and a bedroom count cannot know about the loft, the garage, the stair turn or the permit street. It gets revised later — on the morning, upward, when you have no alternative.

Does the price change on the day?

Not if the property matches the record. Where something genuinely changes you hear it before we act on it.

Can a vehicle park outside?

On most roads here, with planning. Controlled streets get a dispensation; roads too narrow for a full-size vehicle get a shuttle from the nearest legal point.

Our road is narrow.

A planning question, not a problem. Plenty of streets behind the High Street and around Isleworth will not take a large vehicle. We look at the approach and bring the right size.

Semi with a loft and a garage?

The volume goes up, almost always. Lofts and garages are where moves overrun. Open both before we visit so the figure covers what is there.

Riverside or canal-side flat?

Common. Booked service lift, reserved bay, protection fitted, often insurance details wanted in advance. We agree the window with the agent first and build the load order around it.

What if the lift will not take the sofa?

Then it is known at the visit. It comes apart, goes out through a window with a trained crew, goes down in a different order, or stays. All four are workable; a surprise on the morning is not.

Do you work around airport shifts?

A large share of Cranford and Hounslow West work is tied to Heathrow. Early starts and weekends are ordinary here, not exceptional.

Office and business moves?

Yes — High Street units, small offices and light industrial. Desks, IT, stock and records, usually out of hours.

Piano?

Uprights, with the right crew and equipment. Grands and specialist instruments go to a specialist — heavyremovals.uk in our network carries that work, and pointing you there beats learning on your instrument.

Storage?

Containerised, between dates. We pack it, list it on the way in, deliver it back out when the dates settle. Not a self-storage unit you rent and load yourself.

What if completion slips?

Constant, in a chain. Storage bridges the gap and the load travels when the date is genuinely firm.

Do you clear the house?

No. Clearance and waste carriage are a different trade under a different licence. We take away our own packing materials and nothing else.

Do you disconnect appliances?

Gas, plumbed and hard-wired work needs a qualified engineer. We plan the day around their visit and will not do it ourselves.

Out of London?

Often. The M4 and the M25 are minutes away. One job, one crew, both ends — no depot handover.

Abroad?

France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, by road. The customs declaration is built from the survey record and lodged before the vehicle travels. Four countries we run regularly, rather than a list of twenty we do not.

How long does a European move take?

It depends on the route, on dedicated against shared scheduling, and on clearance at the far end. Your written quote sets out an expected window rather than a reassuring figure.

Is it covered?

Cover is in place and its terms — what is covered, the limits, the exclusions — are in your quotation. Read them before booking, and flag anything of unusual value.

When should we book?

Early, especially for a Friday or a month-end. Dispensations need notice and crews get committed first. Short-notice work is taken; we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Why no reviews on this site?

Because we have not collected any. A score we could not substantiate would undercut the only thing this site claims. Real ones will appear with real names against them.
